Titus 2:3-5

"Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips, nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored."

You will find rest for your souls...

Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

As a new mom, I was always sleep deprived and needed lots of rest. But there was always something to do and instead of resting, I would try to get as many things done as possible. Sometimes, I would burn myself out from trying to do too much. Then, I would crash. Now, all parents know that having a newborn is not a restful time (unless your baby is a wonderful sleeper)! That’s why I’m so glad that God has promised us His rest here on earth, not just in Heaven. It is a special kind of rest that comes from believing in God’s promises and knowing that He is taking care of me. I do not have to work for this rest. In fact, I cannot do a single thing in my flesh to achieve it. I can only enter His promised rest by faith. So when I feel particularly exhausted, I need to remind myself of this spiritual truth. His rest is waiting for me. All I need to do is enter it by faith, not by my works. Will you know His rest this week? I hope both of us do.
